The Emirates Thoracic Society's Respiratory Therapy SIG unites the UAE's leading respiratory therapy practitioners and educators — advancing clinical standards, education, and innovation in respiratory care.
Dr. Manjush Karthika is an Associate Professor of Respiratory Care at Batterjee Medical College, Dubai. He is a clinical academic and researcher with expertise in acute and critical care, health professions education, and workforce development. His interests include Respiratory Critical Care, Extracorporeal Life Support, Thoracic Ultrasound, and Interprofessional Education.
He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), a FAIMER Fellow (IFI Philadelphia), and currently serves as President of the Respiratory Care Group of the Emirates Thoracic Society. He is committed to advancing healthcare education, clinical excellence, and patient-centred care through scholarship, innovation, and leadership.
Mr. Rafeek Moiloth Kandy is a Respiratory Therapy Specialist with experience in clinical respiratory care across UAE healthcare institutions. He contributes to advancing respiratory therapy practice and standards within the Emirates Thoracic Society.
His areas of interest include clinical respiratory care, patient management in critical care settings, and the development of respiratory therapy protocols.
Mr. Mohaed Shash serves as Secretary General of the Respiratory Therapy Special Interest Group under the Emirates Thoracic Society. He is involved in coordinating and advancing respiratory therapy initiatives and activities across the UAE.
